Somatic Experiencing, blended with my unique style and background, is a powerful tool for inner change.
It may allow you to complete old or recent patters of wounding, stress or misunderstanding.
This in turn allows your organism to integrate, heal and move beyond those inner patterns, which frees up a lot of life energy.
The new-found freedom and energy may show up in various, sometimes surprising, ways, including a release and a very comfortable physical & inner experience in the session.
Furthermore, in your daily life, it may show up as less tension, more presence, more flow, being (more) comfortable being in your body, having less cravings or need to engage in addictive behaviors, being more comfortable with feelings both while alone and while being with others, being more assertive and clear etc...

It is an excellent tool to help allow your organism use its innate capacity to heal in profound ways and to get back into the flow of being your true self.
Peter Levine, PhD, the founder of this approach, researched natural ways of healing traumatic stress in animals and humans.
He was able to demonstrate that, after dealing with the stressful or overwhelmingly difficult situations, returning to health & wellbeing is the natural response of our organism.
However, we need to get out of the way, to allow this natural response and healing to occur.
Unfortunately, this can be tricky for most humans and for our minds, as we tend to get scared or resist the natural process of healing.
Consequently, many, if not all of us, get stuck with „unfinished business“ from earlier experiences (a difficult memory stored physically, emotionally, energetically and mentally, begging for attention and diverting life energy.)
Meeting such inner places of stuckness ~ places we may not even be consciously fully aware of at this moment ~ together with a compassionate therapist trained in Somatic Experiencing, can help to overcome „being in the way“ and get back into a more natural state of flow, ease and wellbeing.
This is achieved by using the techniques of Somatic Experiencing, and the shared attention and awareness of client and therapist together, to create a very powerful space of (effortless) healing and transformation.
Doing this work has helped people to discover and trust their innate talents and share them with the world.
Originally I had no intentions of becoming a SEP.
However, I experienced a car crash in early 2013.
At that time, I was working as a psychologist in a clinic in southern Germany, providing psychotherapy to adults and children.
My collegue at work had given a classic book about trauma and stress by Peter Levine named „awaken the tiger“ to me a few weeks prior.
I watched in awe, as my body showed exactly the kind of symptoms and reactions, such as trembling of the limbs etc., I had read about in Peter Levine's book a few days before.
My knowledge of those symptoms was extremely helpful, as it enabled me not to resist but to allow those releases of the body to run their natural course.
No after-effects have remained to this day.
I consider myself very very fortunate, in retrospect ~ both for the good fortune of getting out of the accident with minimal injuries.
And for having had the knowledge of the powerful framework of understanding trauma, which Somatic Experiencing provides.
Following my curiousity and intuition, I started the Somatic Experiencing Training in 2013 and finished it in 2016.
Aquiring the knowledge and techniques of this body of work, plus going through a considerable amount of sessions myself while doing the training, has been a great help in my life.
In the subsequent years, I found that I love doing this work with people who have done prior inner work (e.g. meditation training).
I have both personally experienced and seen clients go through magnificent transformations, by using the healing space that a Somatic Experiencing session, done right, provides.
I can say at this point that healing and integration as well as positive impacts can come in any area of life.
The reason being, that Somatic Experiencing (SE) helps you to regulate your autonomous nervous system (ANS) and shift it into a more relaxed, flexible and wholesome state.
The autonomous nervous system governs a whole host of processes within our organism, among others, blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability (a measure of health, resilience and well-being), breathing, digestion, stress-level...
of course, digestion in turn affects wellbeing and the immune system, as does breathing and our stress-level..
it is easy to see, that a positive change in any of those functions may have a very beneficial impact in life.
Plus, there is the possibility of new-found mental and emotional freedom and flow.
